At TubeMaster, Inc., Mr. Johns is responsible for management of the in-house engineering staff as well as an extensive network of subcontractors and vendors. He also handles patenting, trademarks, inventions, marketing, licensing and commercialization of all TubeMaster technologies, as well as strategic planning, technology management and training. Mr. Johns is co-inventor of the patented TubeMaster® System and has other patents and patents pending.

Mr. Johns has over 22 years of engineering experience providing a variety of engineering services: Field & Technical Services, Instrumentation and Controls, Data Acquisition and Data Analysis, Research and Development of Quality Control and Measurement Devices, Computer Programs, Industrial Products and Technical Improvements, Vibration Analysis, Dynamic Balancing, Predictive Maintenance, Field Troubleshooting and Repairs, Laser and Precision Optical Alignment, Finite Element Analysis for Vibration, Thermal and Stress, Structural Vibration Isolation, Acoustics and Noise, and Training on Vibration Analysis, Predictive Maintenance and Alignment.

Prior to founding VESCO Engineering in 1989, Mr. Johns worked for Northeast Utilities in West Springfield, Massachusetts as an Engineer for the New England Power Exchange. There he was responsible for implementing reliability studies and engineering projects to evaluate and improve the electrical supply, distribution and control of the electrical grid for the Eastern United States and Canada. Prior to that, he worked for Northeast Utilities in Berlin, Connecticut as an Associate Engineer in Equipment Analysis in their Nuclear Engineering and Operations.

From 1973–1979, Mr. Johns served as an Electrical Operator, Shutdown Reactor Operator and section leader in the US Navy aboard the USS Gato (SSN–615), a nuclear powered fast-attack submarine. There his duties included submarine systems operation, vibration analysis of rotating machinery, preventative maintenance, training program coordinator, instructor and dynamic balancing and underwater reconnaissance photography.
